What is AI, Machine learning, Deep learning?

Hello everyone …!
I am starting my tutorial series on machine learning with simple explanations so that even a naive can understand. This is the first tutorial of this series where we differentiate between AI, ML, and DL.

So let’s start with Artificial Intelligence (AI).

What is Artificial Intelligence?

Artificial Intelligence (AI) refers to the simulation of human intelligence in machines that are programmed to think and mimic cognitive functions like learning, problem-solving, perception, and decision-making. The goal of AI is to create systems that can perform tasks that typically require human intelligence. These tasks include understanding natural language, recognizing patterns, solving problems, and adapting to changing environments.

Analogy to further understand the concept of AI:

Think of AI as a skilled chef in a kitchen. The chef has general knowledge about cooking, understands recipes, and can create new dishes. AI, similarly, is a broad concept that refers to machines or systems that can perform tasks that typically require human intelligence. AI encompasses a wide range of techniques, including rule-based systems, expert systems, and more.

Example: An AI system in a smart home that can adjust temperature, lighting, and music based on your preferences and habits.

Now Let us understand what is machine learning.
